"Light is the giver of all presences."— Louis I. Kahn
Design is not about filling a space, but creating room for life to unfold. The driving idea behind this project was to elevate the experience of living within a compact footprint, allowing the home to feel more expansive than its physical dimensions suggest.
This newly completed 92-square-metre apartment is configured as a three-bedroom residence, expressed through a refined palette of warm neutrals and tactile finishes. Rather than accepting the original layout as a fixed framework, the project reshapes the communal areas into an open, interconnected sequence, allowing the living room and dining area to converge as the heart of everyday life. This design approach enhances continuity and visual openness, demonstrating how thoughtful planning can transform a modest footprint into a home with greater spatial clarity.
The project is guided by the choreography of movement and repose. Soft curves, disciplined proportions, layered lighting and nuanced material transitions dissolve conventional boundaries, allowing one space to unfold naturally into the next. Negative space is treated not as absence, but as an active design element that frames light, encourages pause and shapes the rhythm of everyday life—allowing light to become the primary architectural medium.
Curves define the project's spatial expression, extending across walls, ceilings and integrated furniture elements to soften edges and establish fluid transitions throughout. A mellow palette of creamy whites, warm beige tones and richly tactile materials creates an atmosphere of quiet elegance and depth. Rather than serving as a decorative gesture, the curved forms choreograph movement, reinforce spatial continuity and foster an intuitive connection between people and space.
