This project centers on the symbolic reconstruction of Zheng Chenggong’s legacy to bridge the gap between historical tradition and modern design and to create cohesive and socially viral asset system for Shijing Town. To solve the problems of fragmented cultural assets and the disconnect from youth identity in the national hero’s hometown, we executed a design experiment of “restoring the original and purifying the source.” This initiative is designed to weave a “visual language” that guides the ancient town into the future. In our design execution, we visually deconstructed the attire of a Ming Dynasty general, and discarded the complexity of traditional realism in favor of blocky, heavy forms to honor Zheng Chenggong’s “upright and unyielding” integrity. We meticulously structurally refined the Ming armor: transforming the intricate shape of the Phoenix Wing Helmet into a modern wing profile with geometric tension, and converting the stacked structure of the Shanwen Armor into a modular, minimalist texture. Instead of mere replication, this method extracts historical DNA for digital reconstruction, eliminating ornamental excess to create a super-symbol system defined by the “Phoenix Wing” and “Beard.” This geometric visual strategy balances historical legitimacy with modern minimalism, and secures a distinct visual asset and cultural mark for Shijing Town in a saturated market.
