Grounded in warm timber tones, the open-plan layout allows light to flow freely throughout the space. A nuanced interplay of light and dark wood grains, off-white and shades of gray creates a bright yet grounding atmosphere. In the shared area, the study room is thoughtfully integrated into a recessed corner alongside the living and dining spaces, creating a quieter retreat while maintaining a seamless connection to the communal setting. The design accommodates not only joyous family gatherings but also those quiet moments when solitude is needed.

The TV wall is finished in gray-toned hand-applied plaster. Unlike solid cabinetry, open shelving with slatted details can create an airy look that visually lighten the space. The main wall embraces rich layers, paired with display shelving and a floating TV console to extend the horizontal axis and create a sense of visual continuity. By balancing the visual weight of the tall cabinet, the composition maintains a sense of stability across the elevation. Timber elements extend seamlessly from the wall to the ceiling, wrapping around the beam that spans above the TV wall. Beyond reducing the presence of the existing structure, this approach adds warmth and makes the space feel more enveloping.

The open study room is anchored by a long desk along the wall, creating a space for moments of solitude, while a full-height bookcase behind it frames the space as an immersive personal retreat. The previously open kitchen is enclosed with glass sliding doors, containing cooking odors while preserving the flow of light and sightlines. The bedroom returns to simplicity and restraint, with a low-saturation palette and subtle material variations minimizing visual distraction and cultivating a cozy atmosphere.
