Titled “The Eternal Bloom of Chrysanthemum Dreams,” the project redefines the chrysanthemum exhibition as more than a flower-viewing event, inviting visitors on a journey layered with floral art, artistic expression, and metaphors of life. Fifteen themed zones unfold like a three-dimensional picture book, guiding visitors through stages of departure, growth, and reflection. The circulations mirror a life timeline, connecting each phase of dreaming and realization. Along the way, blooming flowers reflect moments of personal growth, conveying that at every stage of life, one can blossom with their own unique radiance.
Horticultural Craftsmanship — Letting Time Become the Artwork
More than 150 chrysanthemum varieties and over 130,000 plants were curated across the exhibition, featuring large-flowered, medium, small, cascading, and sculptural chrysanthemums arranged in rich layers and diverse techniques. Among them, the Multifloral Tyape Chrysanthemum (Daliju), known as the “King of Chrysanthemums,” requires over 16 months of meticulous pinching, pruning, training, and flowering control. 2024 set a new record, with a single plant producing 560 blossoms simultaneously. For the first time, linear chrysanthemums were grafted into butterfly forms, pushing botanical science toward the frontier of aesthetics. Cascading chrysanthemums, shaped through suspension techniques, create floral waterfalls that subtly express an Eastern sense of Zen-inspired balance.
