New Taipei’s Wanli and Jinshan districts cultivate approximately 30 hectares (300,000.0 square meters) of azaleas, with an annual output of about 6 million plants, supplying over 80% of the greening and beautification seedlings across Taiwan. However, the region has long lacked a public awareness commensurate with the scale of its industry. Facing an aging rural population and succession pressures, the Agricultural Department of the New Taipei City Government began driving brand building in 2021, and further restructured the flower exhibition in 2026 around "Let’s Go Bloom" and "A Heartfelt Journey through Wanjin."
Curatorial work commenced in October 2025, with the main exhibition running from February 7 to March 8, 2026. Through a multi-venue configuration, eight co-created local IP installations, the Azalea Art Museum, generational collaboration gardens, steel craftsmanship, commercial district events, and in-depth tours, the project successfully transformed simple flower-viewing into a rich cultural experience. Following the exhibition, several installations returned to their partner organizations for continued use, the photography exhibition reorganized the floral materials and structures, and the "New Taipei Flower Young 101" event at Taipei 101 brought the Wanjin azaleas into the heart of the city, evolving the flower exhibition from a seasonal event into a brand platform that links origin sites, art, tourism, and local identity.
