The Jack Daniel’s x McLaren Halo MK1 Limited Edition display case turns packaging into performance theatre. Developed by Hunter Luxury in collaboration with Brown-Forman and McLaren Racing, the pack is a limited-edition design showpiece that puts the precision, excitement, and engineering culture of Formula 1 front and centre.

The concept is inspired by the Halo safety device used in Formula 1 racing. Rather than treating that reference as a visual cue alone, the design translates its logic into the structure of the pack itself. The bottle is held in exact suspension within a rigid aluminium framework, creating a striking sense of balance, protection, and control. It appears poised at the centre of the object, almost weightless, while the surrounding structure gives it strength and purpose.

This is packaging designed to be experienced, not simply opened and discarded. A concealed push-button mechanism sits beneath the subtly embossed McLaren insignia on top of the case. With one press, the bottle is released in a smooth, uninterrupted motion. The interaction is precise, controlled, and deliberately cinematic, turning the reveal into a moment of ceremony.

Every material has been chosen to reinforce the relationship between motorsport performance and luxury presentation. Aluminium provides structure and clarity. Carbon fibre effect detailing references the technical language of racing. Alcantara-inspired linings bring softness, tactility, and depth. The result is a pack that balances mechanical confidence with carefully considered premium sensory detail. Meaning and intent are infused into every creative decision.

Behind the final object is an intensive design and development process. More than 50 custom components were created across eight material systems and eight specialist manufacturing processes. Over 20 prototypes were produced to refine the form, movement, alignment, and sound of the release mechanism.

Completed in 13 months from concept to production, Halo MK1 demonstrates how limited-edition packaging can become a brand artefact in its own right. It protects, presents, and amplifies the product, while expressing the shared values of Jack Daniel’s and McLaren through design.

Halo MK1 does not simply house the bottle. It transforms it into a moment of engineered luxury.
