Nested Intimacy: Adaptive Privacy Housing

Nested Intimacy proposes a new model for multi-unit housing that redefines the relationship between individual privacy and collective living. Organized as a modular aggregation of cubic units, the project forms a larger architectural system composed of nested spatial hierarchies.

At the core of the proposal is a system of layered thresholds - adjustable envelopes that mediate light, air, visibility, and acoustic conditions. Rather than treating the façade as a static boundary, the building envelope becomes an active interface, allowing residents to calibrate their level of engagement with the surrounding community.

This dynamic system generates a gradient of spatial conditions, ranging from intimate domestic interiors to shared communal environments.
